From October 2015 the National Minimum Wage Rates will increase to:


Rate for Workers aged 21 and over:

£6.70 per hour from 1/10/15 (an increase of 20p)


Development Rate for Workers aged 18-20 inclusive:

£5.30 per hour from 1/10/15 (an increase of 17p)


Rate for 16 and 17 year olds above Compulsory School Leaving Age:

£3.87 per hour from 1/10/15 (an increase of 8p)


Apprentice Minimum Wage:

£3.30 per hour for apprentices under 19, and for apprentices 19 and over in their FIRST YEAR of apprenticeship from 1/10/15 (an increase of 57p)


In the Summer Budget 2015 the Government announced the introduction of a new mandatory National Living Wage (NLW).  From April 2016 a premium of 70p will be added to the National Minimum Wage for workers aged 25 and above taking their hourly rate up to £7.20.  For those workers aged 21+ the NMW will continue to apply.
