With effect from today Employer’s must contribute to the Furlough Scheme should they continue to have employees on furlough.

 

Since August 2020 Employers have been responsible for paying employees pension contributions and Employer National Insurance Contributions.

From 1st September 2020 the Government will contribute 70% of wages up to a cap of £2,187.50 per month and Employers will now have to pay 10% of wages as well.

From 1st October 2020 the Government’s contribution will reduce to 60% of wages up to a cap of £1,875 per month and Employers will increase their contribution to 20% of wages.

The Scheme is set to end on 31st October 2020.
